When it's time to shape the ends of the rails in a frame and panel door, you’ll need a way to keep the narrow end of the rail material properly aligned with the fence. There are lots of ways to do this, but a coping sled will add the most mass & stability, and a sled will always have the best options for clamping.

As with all Woodpeckers products, their coping sled is absolutely top notch and made in the USA. The base platform is a full 3/8" phenolic topped with anodized aluminum extrusions and heavy duty hardware.

The handles are directly over the lumber and keep your hands a good distance from the router bit. There's also a sliding block that traps the lumber from the front that helps prevent the lumber from shifting while reducing the amount of pressure needed from the clamps above.

There's plenty of room on the platform to add a sacrificial backing board behind the rail material for super clean cuts, and the sled handles rail stock up to 5-1/2" wide if you’re not using a zero clearance backer.

This sled is guided by the fence, not by a miter slot, so the alignment of the fence doesn’t matter. It's also great for router tables without miter channels, like the ones mounted on the left side of INCRA rip fence systems.
