Forrest 8" 2-pc Box Joint Blade Set
Forrest's matched two piece box joint blade set is a great solution if you cut a lot of smaller box joints with the INCRA I-Box. These premium blades are American-made, just like all Forrest products.
The box joint blade set's 1/4" and 3/8" cutting widths give up some of the overall versatility of a stack dado as a general woodworking tool, but the upside is that the set is much less expensive than a comparable dado set.
In addition to a lower cost, the teeth on these blades also have a flat-top grind so they cut flatter bottoms and more perfectly square corners than even the best dado sets. The box joint blade set will also feed faster and with less noise than a similarly-sized router bit.
The two 8" blades in the set are mirror images of one another when viewed from the operator's position, with their carbide tips slightly offset on each of the blades' bodies - one blade offset to the left, the other blade offset to the right. This allows the blades to be reversed side to side to create either a 1/4" or 3/8" cutting width (the blades must be used together and aren't designed to be used individually).
