A-Line-It System Kit
Regardless of the cost of your saw, it only makes sense to squeeze out the best performance it has to offer, particularly if you've upgraded to the consistency of an INCRA rip fence system. And don't forget that a properly aligned saw is even more important for crosscutting accuracy than it is for ripping.
In-Line Industries' A-Line-It was among the first and still is the most versatile diagnostic and calibration system available for woodworking shops, and the FREE DVD covers all of the basics of getting your equipment fine-tuned. The basic A-Line-It kit is priced to fit the budget of a typical home shop while giving you 1/1000" accuracy for the most common measurements and adjustments including:
Align the blade to the miter slots
Align the fence to the miter slot, either parallel or with a specific amount of relief at the outfeed end
Check axial runout in the blade (the side-to-side wobble you see in blades as they turn slowly)
Check axial runout of the fixed arbor flange
Check radial (up/down) runout in the arbor shaft
The Smart Bar guide has spring loaded adjusters that automatically produce a perfect, play-free fit in standard table 3/4"-wide miter slots, including the undersize slots of some Craftsman and Ridgid saws. Leveling knobs compensate for slots of varying depth. The bars and dial indicator can be reconfigured for a variety of different operations, and the dial indicator itself has a 1" stroke and reads in 0.001" graduations.
